It was inspired by PCH towards Pt. Mugu but includes info from my memory and feeling bank which is dominated by the Central Coast where I live.
Cool painting. Looks like the SM Mtns, but can't be sure — the "rock" looks like MB. But maybe it is a blending of both?? Or north of SF, which I haven't seen in a while.

Yeah, I’d say Malibu heading towards Pt. Mugu. I see you like to guess California coastscapes too. Have you ever seen “Chinatown?” I’m guessing they filmed their coast scenes on Catalina.
Did you click Donald’s painting to link over to his site? I’ve linked it to all his Coast Highway paintings page. He has other series of works too. I believe he lives along your stretch there and is a nearby neighbor.
